Star Trek Voyager DVD's
Bought all 7 seasons of Star Trek Voyager DVD's off EBay for $275 (including S&H) from a seller in Hong Kong. I did some extensive checks first to make certain that the DVD's were all Dual Layer, and not recompressed. Got them in yesterday, and the video quality looks excellent (wish my ST:TNG and Babylon 5 DVD's were the same...sigh).



After watching a couple of the first season episodes again, I'm beginning to agree that this sure is a "momma-kick-ass" show (i.e. the women play all the leading roles and save the day over and over again). Maybe it is just the perspective of having watched Babylon 5 series recently. That, and Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers is probably the same, only in reverse (all the women seem to play the helpless dumb porn star roles in those late 70's series).

I'll have to see if I like ST:DS9 when I start watching them.

30" Vizio LCD
Bought a 30" Vizio LCD flat panel HDTV monitor from Costco that I've gotten hooked up to my DVI output on my computer, my XBox (with component inputs), my DirecTivo, and will ultimately, probably put it in my MAME machine. This is the first 30" LCD that will fit in a 29.5" wide cabinet (since it has the speakers at the bottom rather than on the side), so it should be perfect. I don't like the features as much as I did on the Sceptre, but it isn't bad.
